Battery Back Up Sump Pumps

Battery Back Up System are not all created equal. The systems have to match your situation. What to look for when considering a back-up system. The pump GPM (gallons per minute) has to be at least what your existing pump will pump or you are only gambling on if it will keep up in heavy rain conditions. Industry standards are 30 GPM @ a 10 feet rise. The rise is measured from the bottom of the pump to the point were the discharge line can gravity flow or turn horizontally. Some manufactures will try to confuse the consumer and say gallons per hour at zero rise. Simply divide the gallons per hour by 60 minutes and compare systems at the same rise height to determine what system is best for your application.
